Recycling aluminium is very advantageous: you can save up to 95% of the energy needed for normal aluminium production and nine kilograms of CO2 for every kilogram of aluminium. Aluminium can be recycled countless times without losing quality, which is very important as primary aluminium reserves can no longer satisfy global demand.
In the car industry, 90% of the aluminium used to produce the rims is recycled, as is 30% of that used in the manufacture of pistons and cylinders and 40% of that used for the overall structure of the car.
